Looking Forward To: El Dorado
Festival season has come around once again and we’re excited to jump into a promising summer line up. R&B, Hip Hop, Afrobeat and Pop waves remain our favourites; we’re also letting ourselves go to House and Garage scenes, and looking forward to experiencing the explosion of underground music right now.
To kick things off, The GIFTED Journal will be at El Dorado, an enchanting boutique festival set in the heart of Eastnor Castle Deer Park in Herefordshire. The four day festival (6th-9th July) offers a diverse and eclectic programme of established and emerging artists, with a full line-up of over 300+ names, as well as a holistic range of activities to indulge in.
In our excitement for this immersive experience, here is a list of five things we are most looking forward to.
(1) Eastnor Castle Deer Park
Eastnor Castle lies in Herefordshire at the idyllic foot of the Malvern Hills, on the edge of the Cotswolds. Surrounded by a beautiful deer park and lake, these designated areas of natural beauty promise moments of reflection and a relaxing retreat from the pacey rhythm of life. This accessible wilderness provides a perfect escape and exhale.
(2) Something For Everyone
Hosting a variety of genres from House, Techno, Disco, DnB, Garage, Jungle, Breaks, RnB, Hip-Hop and more, this buffet of genres promise all music lovers a full experience. Whether you’re craving a trip down memory lane, with old skool legends such as Goldie or Vengaboys, or ready to dive into something more niche in taste, the 20+ stages such as Mount Boom and The Nest will be the heart of all things fresh! Artists like Sampa The Great. Maverick Sabre, Shy FX, and Melle Brown are not to be missed.
(3) Wild Festival
This year, El Dorado Festival will host its first ever wild spa oasis next to Treasure Island lake. Offering wood fired hot tubs to soak in with a nice glass of bubbly or, for a more purifying treatment, a steamy sauna moment to reset, these tempting indulgences seem perfect for a mind, body and soul connection.
(4) Comedy
El Dorado will also feature laughs out loud - with some of the UK’s best names in comedy! With stand up acts from names like Joe Wells, Tatty Macleod, Tik Tok superstar Henry Rowley, Michael Frankland and many more, be prepared to get lost in fits of giggles throughout the weekend.
(5) Yoga, Workshops, Karaoke, Dodgeball
Those who aspire to give the artists a run for their money can sing away their stress. The festival site will also be hosting two karaoke areas; die hard Disney fans can sing along to all the classics, or for the dancing queens, Abbaoke will also be on the cards. Other activities include yoga, massages, circus workshops and disco dodgeball - because who doesn’t want to leave a festival feeling new and improved?
What a great way to dive deep into this year’s festival season. Let the summer of great music and connection commence. See you there!
